In September 2022, the MOHW held the "APEC Conference on Digital Health Care Innovation." Health officials,
experts and scholars from the United States, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia,
etc., were invited to share experiences in the development of smart healthcare solutions.

Section 2 International Exchange and Assistance
                  1. International cooperation and exchange
                    (1) International cooperation

                       A. During the WHA in May 2022, MOHW Deputy Minister Li-Feng Lee held a bilateral meeting with Loyce
Pace, the Assistant Secretary for Global Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health. The US reiterated its
support for Taiwan's participation in the WHA and the WHO meetings. Taiwan and the US jointly committed
to addressing future threats while emphasizing the importance of open, transparent, and timely information
                         sharing.

                       B. Taiwan's digital COVID-19 certificates, accepted by the European Union in December 2021, have been
mutually recognized by 76 countries adopting the EU Digital COVID Certificate (EU-DCC) format. In May
2022, Taiwan also joined the Vaccination Credential Initiative (VCI) led by the United States, allowing the
MOHW to issue digital vaccination certificates in the Smart Health Card (SHC) format that can be certified.
By adopting both international systems, the MOHW can provide a wider range of choices to the public.
                       C. In November 2022, the MOHW signed a cooperative agreement with Paraguay, laying the groundwork for
information exchange on issues, such as the management and monitor procedures for pharmaceuticals,
medical devices and laboratory performance. The bilateral agreement also establishes channels for talent
training exchanges, with the aim of expanding Taiwan's international market for pharmaceutical products
and deepening the friendship between Taiwan and Paraguay.
