D. In December 2022, the "Taiwan-U.S. Health and Welfare Policy Symposium" was held with approximately
320 participants. The theme was "Shaping a Healthier Future: Recurring Challenges and Policy
Prioritization." 7 U.S. officials and scholars were invited to Taiwan to share their practical experience in
current significant public health and social welfare issues.

(2) International Affairs: In 2022, the MOHW attended international conferences or workshops abroad (27
physically, 100 virtually), and held/attended international conferences or workshops in Taiwan (9 physically, 18
virtually). A total of 268 foreign guests from 43 countries were invited.
A. Attending international conferences
(a) The MOHW recommended 2 local Traditional Chinese Medicine experts to serve as members of
the Working Party of the European Pharmacopoeia Commission of the European Directorate for the
Quality of Medicines & HealthCare to understand trends of traditional medicine editing in the European
Pharmacopeia, enhance international harmonization of the Taiwan Herbal Pharmacopeia, and provide
references for revision.
(b) In June 2022, MOHW Director of
Nursing and Health Care, Shu-Feng
Tsai, was invited to attend the American
Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
National Conference to communicate the
development of applicable policies, laws
and regulations on nurse practitioners in
Taiwan and the United States. Director
Tsai was also awarded an Honorary
